
Command Sergeant Major Sheldon Stace
Command Sergeant Major to the Joint Staff of the Idaho Army National Guard
Command Sergeant Major Sheldon Stace enlisted in the Idaho Army National Guard in March 1997 as a 68W Combat Medic. Over the course of his 28 years of service, he has served in a variety of assignments and leadership roles across the organization, including the 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team, Idaho Medical Detachment, Recruiting and Retention Battalion, 2-204th Regional Training Institute, and Joint Force Headquarters.
CSM Stace has held progressive leadership positions from Team Leader to First Sergeant, as well as serving as Operations Sergeant Major at the brigade, state, and joint levels. His assignments reflect a broad range of experience in both operational and institutional environments, contributing to force readiness and Soldier development across multiple echelons.
In May 2025, CSM Stace was dually assigned as the Joint Staff Senior Enlisted Leader and the Land Component Command Sergeant Major of the Idaho Army National Guard, where he continues to provide senior enlisted leadership, guidance, and mentorship to Soldiers across the state.
CSM Stace resides in Kuna with his wife of over 25 years, Julie. They enjoy spending time with their adult children and their granddaughter.
